For the second time in 4 years, OV received a bid into the CIF-SS Southern Division playoffs. They face the #2 seed Corona Del Mar Sea Kings on Friday at CDM.
CDM's star QB Mitch Gardner leads the way for the Sea Kings, with over 1000 passing yards on the season and 14 Touchdowns.
The Seahawks, 7-3 (3-2), are 14 points away from being the Golden West League champs, but will face a huge challenge this week against the high flying Sea Kings, who run an offense very similar to that of the Oregon Ducks, without the insane tempo. The good news? Ocean View has faced multiple spread teams, and has played extremely well.
For instance, the high octane offense of Laguna Beach was shut down by the Seahawks’ ambiguous defense, and hybrid-style players are a necessity against any spread offense.
